Howdy =) Nosotros purchased our Jayco Qwest 8u (2000) terminal summer from our neighbors. We've slowly been redoing information technology and trying to restore information technology to it's former glory. This by wintertime, we had and unusual amount of rain (for CA anyhow) and when we opened upward the pup nosotros had h2o... lots o' water =( The previous owner said he maintained the center seal.. but what I recall he did was just pop out the vinyl spiral encompass and just put more screws in the metal tract... And then at present it looks similar swiss cheese.
My question is.... Where do I notice the metal tract, joining slice, thingy? I've seen a part that looks like it for a coleman camper but can't find 1 for a Jayco. Whatever help, direction, guidance would be greatly appreciated!

On my Jayco (2001) I have never touched the center vinyl portion. Y'all do have to remove the caulk that is on the sides of it in one case in a while and re caulk. Both the center seam (each side) and the edges and corners. Other than that, I just clean it off once in a while. Yous should be parking your camper for storage with as much roof gradient equally possible to permit the h2o to easily run off. Don't shop it level and flat.

The former owner took off the center aluminum strip practical new butyl tape and then screwed it back down but failed to replace the eye vinyl strip =( I'thou guessing that'southward function of our leak problem. I've stripped all of the old caulk out and the old butyl tape and now I'm going to clean the center with acetone and reapply the butyl tape so put the middle strip back downward... My center seam looks like swiss cheese at present... I've bought new vinyl to put down the middle ... simply wondering if I should try and find a new centre strip or re-employ the one I have. I've attached a few pictures of my project =) Thanks for y'all help

If your existing center strip is in good shape y'all tin reuse it. New butyl and vinyl and and so caulk the edges with a good outside non silicone caulk and you should be adept to become. Not sure how to assess whatsoever water impairment from water getting inside your roof, but I would take a very shut expect.
